Your tour begins with pickup in Waikoloa or Kona by 15-passenger van with a maximum group size of 14 people per tour for a small-group experience.
Drive over Saddle Road to the Hilo side of the island to reach an elevation of 6,800 feet (2,073 meters); along the way, your tour guide explains the different climate zones. When descending from the volcanoes into Hilo, you will see beautiful Rainbow Falls. If the conditions are right, you may see a rainbow in the spray of the water.
Then continue into downtown Hilo and visit a black-sand beach before enjoying lunch (available for purchase) at a local diner. Next, stop at Big Island Candies for samples of Kona coffee, shortbread cookies, and chocolate-covered macadamia nuts, if you wish.
Your last destination is Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which includes attractions such as steam vents, Chain of Craters Road, and Thurston Lava Tube (optional). Dinner (available for purchase) will take place inside the national park, and if the volcano goddess permits, you will see the glowing red of her home in the evening.
Then sit back and relax as your guide returns you to your hotel in Waikoloa or Kona. This tour is perfect for those who would like to see many different places on the Big Island of Hawaii without long strenuous hikes. Please note: the longest walk is an optional 0.3-mile (0.5-km) walk on a paved path into a lava tube.

I just finished my trip, and it was knowledgeable, amazing, interested tour with friendly, nicely and funny tour guide. Her name is Katie who took us too many places as the tour mentions and gave us opening eyes for beautiful natural views like Rainbow Waterfall and many stops in Volcanoes National Park. Although we couldn't see the flow from lava because of weather condition, I definitely recommend everyone should take this tour with Katie who is awesome tour guide I have never seen before. In additional, the food is good as well as we can try some special local food from this tour.
